Madelaine Jacknisky, Student
I enjoy the challenge of insurance litigation because every file presents a different set of facts and legal issues to work through. Finding practical solutions, thinking creatively, and continually learning are what drew me to this area of practice. During my articling year, I am gaining experience across the whole litigation process, including legal research, drafting court documents, document review, and supporting lawyers on a wide range of insurance matters.
I completed a degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Law at MacEwan University before earning my Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. My experience with Student Legal Services and the Centre for Public Legal Education Alberta reinforced the importance of making the law accessible and understandable. I strive to communicate clearly and help clients navigate legal issues with confidence. Outside the office, I enjoy horseback riding, backcountry camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
